Handle Orders (ORU) sending and receiving via Fax or HL7
All of the Canadian hospitals have this need and we can extend Nova to allow the hospital staff to fill out a standardized form in Nova and then Nova can send the ORU to the Lab with all the order information entered in the form included in the ORU message.
Nova can receive the lab results, which is the Order form, as a fax and extract the accession number or allow the staff to manually enter the accession number in the Submittal Queue. Then Nova would send an ORU to the EHR with the accession number and the Order form in the ORU message.
